1. What We Collect

When you use DocGen, we collect the following information:

  • GitHub account email — collected when you sign in with GitHub via OAuth. Used to identify your account.
  • GitHub user ID — used internally to associate your generated docs with your account.
  • Repository URLs — URLs of GitHub repositories you submit for documentation generation.
  • Generated documentation — the AI-generated output is saved to your account so you can access it later.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not store your source code
  • We do not access private repositories
  • We do not collect payment details (handled entirely by LemonSqueezy)
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To authenticate you and maintain your session
  • To save and display your previously generated documentation
  • To enforce free tier limits (tracking number of generations per user)
  • To improve the Service

4. Third-Party Services

DocGen uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — stores your account data and generated docs securely
  • GitHub OAuth — used for authentication only
  • Anthropic (Claude API) — processes repository content to generate documentation
  • LemonSqueezy — handles all payments and subscriptions
  • Vercel — hosts the application

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase with Row Level Security enabled, meaning only you can access your own data. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

6. Data Retention

Your generated documentation is stored until you delete your account or request deletion. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Revoke DocGen's GitHub OAuth access at any time from your GitHub settings
